Day 76

Sunday | May 13th, 2012

It seemed like from the moment I woke up today, I was thrust into some kind of computing experience where I was learning a lot, but would have also liked to have had the ability to walk away from it sooner. The worst thing about computers is knowing more about them than other people. Most of the time this is okay and doesn’t really affect me much. Sometimes, though, I encounter people who know so little and therefore think everything is possible for someone who knows more than them (me) to accomplish in a few short hours. That gets real annoying.

I’ve semi-committed to improve upon something for TOEIC camp, thank Kipple there is already a solution in place or I would’ve torn off my own head today. But someone who knows not and perhaps their band of fairy nothings thinks I can make the mundane awesome. Maybe I can, maybe I can’t. The scientist problem-solver in me is intrigued enough by the problem to try, but the results are just for me.

That’s all I did today: slouch in front of a computer researching a problem, trying different solutions; then giving up and working on the back up solution which requires more code language than I have. Maybe I can, maybe I can’t.
