Day 675

X

At home, all day on the day after the day of the first day of the new year. The dogs were bored and sick with our hermit-like existence by about 09.45 and pestered us both for much of the day. Meow did whatever Meow does during these times, vacation time for her while I focused on what I did last winter around this time: TOEIC. There’s never as much to do as there is during TOEIC camp. And just once, nay twice, I might like to see what eight weeks of not working would be like.

But then I remember what it is like to be without work and get sad. But then I remember that in this circumstance, both sets of eight weeks’ vacation each year are paid and get happy and elated. But then I remember that I generally go bananas without a steady stream of things to do and that going bananas only takes about four days and everything descends into murkiness, not showering, not sleeping, then sleeping for 18-21 hours, gorging my staving flesh, then fasting because I feel “puffy”, then diving head first into some project or book and not coming up for air or bathroom breaks.
