Day 60

X

We’ve lived in Gyeongju for two months now. It feels a lot longer. I suppose that means that we’ve adjusted to the point where things seem no longer special and some of the “Wow!” has worn off. I experienced a bit of this today when coming home:

… there was a building here, a house in fact, I swear it, not less than two weeks ago which was the last time I walked by here. This is the lot across from the car wash. I even leaned against this house to take my car wash picture(s). This is the second lot I’ve seen razed in my neighborhood. I don’t like it when old buildings are razed. Some fuglolicious pillar of crap architecture will go up in its place.

I had a little dilemma crossing the street today. There is a building I’ve wanted to take a picture of for about 48 days, but I’m always right next to it. Last week, I made a mental note to try from across the street someday when I found myself at the crosswalk. Today, there I was, waiting for the light to change and, ‘Hey, my building!’. I couldn’t and still can’t decide which image is better.

They are both strong and weak in different places. I may have to make a point to take a few shots with the S70 and see where its wide-angle, RAW goodness will take me.
