Sunday work. That’s a first in a long while.

I did lots of basic sentence work today. It’s a nice trade from the PDF where most of what I do is higher level, like Summa A through C (basically, the corresponding level would be Korean high elementary and first year middle school students reading American 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th grade novels). Today’s class is more like the CEC’s Magna 3 or Magna 4 levels which were always fun to teach (think 200 word readers or chapter books).

We played a sentence building game and the Korean teacher liked what I was doing and insisted we do another hour of it after the first break, so I put up ice cream as a prize for the winning team. When I walked out to go get the prizes, the Korean teacher drove me down the hill into Chunghyo-dong proper where we stopped at an independent Korean mart that had an 80% off sale on all their ice cream. It seemed funny to have walked around for so long yesterday and pay close to 3,000 won for two ice creams and get sunburnt and then today to pay just over 3,000 won for fifteen ice creams and not be sunburnt.

At some point I put on the video of Intergalactic without the sound for some story observation and then retelling (more sentence work). This video is always good source because all ESL students can track that a giant robot lands on Earth and battles a giant monster. Most young students also bring a lot of outside experience to it too with Power Rangers and Transformers.

The Daily Bullet

Shooting with Camera Noir again because it handles the incredibly bright sunlight and backlit clouds much better than 6×7 does and the goth/apocalypse look is hard to beat and Plastic Bullet can’t punch up the tones without blowing most of the picture out. I really like this camera app.

Daily Report

I didn’t sleep last night. I struggled to write or create a script that would grab an .mp3 from a folder, open it, insert markers in pre-determined places, split the audio file into eleven segments based on those
