Day 479

Thursday | June 20th, 2013

I finished everything I could today if only to be able to leave at exactly 13.00 tomorrow and shift gears straight into TOEIC and summer vacation. I even remembered to fill out my special Team Leader report which added another hour of self-evaluation, self-reflection, and digging through planning files to compile. It was worth it. I have 10 tasks left:

  • two exams 09.00 & 11.00
  • calculate the grades for both classes
  • officially enter the grades for all six of my classes in the university’s system
  • print off the gradesheet for all six of my classes
  • put those gradesheets into my portfolio
  • put the exam materials for the 09.00 and 11.00 classes in my portfolio
  • put my attendance sheet and exam schedule in my portfolio
  • email all six gradebooks to my department
  • drop my portfolio off in the department office
  • drop my team meeting minutes and Team Leader report off in the department office

Once this is done … I’m going home. I have a TOEIC workshop Saturday morning. Hopefully it will be equally brief and not descend into anarchy. I think I need to make a Powerpoint presentation to lay some of what I need to cover out (and control the room better than I did for the last workshop). It all depends on how I feel about work tomorrow afternoon …

This (above) is what happens when I leave work at sunset (hero image, top; walking home from the office). Meow insists that I’m hungry when I’m not and makes me food anyway when I say I don’t need her to. I get a nice big plate of vegetables (the lettuce is from our garden, the tomatoes and the carrot from DH’s inlaws—gifts for fence building). I sit down and start eating and realize that this (or whatever Meow has made) is exactly what I do need.

Daily Report

I didn’t sleep last night. I struggled to write or create a script that would grab an .mp3 from a folder, open it, insert markers in pre-determined places, split the audio file into eleven segments based on those
