Day 452

Friday | May 24th, 2013

No buffet. I’m not sure buffet will ever happen again this semester … maybe in Week 15 … but more likely not. Everyone, especially me, is focused on finishing up and getting out to enjoy the summer. Me, I just want to wrap everything up and shift gear into TOEIC before it’s suddenly on me and I’m trapped in front of a computer indefinitely.

I had a banana for breakfast and Meow made 김치 볶음밥 (kimchi bokkeumbap; kimchi fried rice) for our lunch. This made it too easy to sit in front of my computer with Star Trek V (sans homework), and finish off the chocolate Oreos® and honky Oreos™ I bought last night on the way home from a few drinks.

The crinkling of the plastic wrapper brought Naughty and Twitchy expectantly to my doorway (above, left). In was in taunting them that I created the ultimate Oreo (above, right). But this amount of sugar must have shocked my system or something because I dozed off awkwardly in my chair for hours. I awoke, gifted with a jacked up neck and hungry again.

It was very hot today (above 31°) and we are trying to eat better these days, so I made smoothies for both of us and a salad for myself (to help me through Star Trek V). The green are 100% organic and from Meow’s garden. They tasted buttery yummy.

I relaxed tonight, worked on the photos for backposts here, read through the usual internet nonsense. Tomorrow is homework grading day and make-the-last-lesson-plan day. I have to remember to dig the fan out of storage or I’m going to melt in my room during Star Trek VI or Star Trek VII.

The Daily Bullet

Day 427 and Day 428, thus April 2013 is sealed up for the brain-chive. Day 429 just dribbled out of me, probably because it closes the story of PP’s laptop (it works, btw).

Daily Report

I didn’t sleep last night. I struggled to write or create a script that would grab an .mp3 from a folder, open it, insert markers in pre-determined places, split the audio file into eleven segments based on those

The Fourth Wall

I’m here and alive. Ten days behind the reality of my written life, yet here and alive. TOEIC is the predominant motif of life from the end of the semester until … today. This is the end, after

This Old Hanok

When we had the bathroom done, we wanted to design our own window for the part of the wall which straddles the storage space along the side of the house. This way we could have clean airflow through
