Day 447

Sunday | May 19th, 2013

I slept until 15.30—again. I think Meow came to bother me around 11.30 when the alarm went off, but my grouchiness drove her away.

I ate brown rice with lentils again and went to my inner slave-doom to crank out lesson plans and materials. I’ve been doing this too much in the last month and watching life slip by as I do it. Part of this is from goals set by me and another half of it is not wanting to suck at what I do for a living and half of that is relying on other people to provide some kind of basis.

Naturally, the PDF being the PDF, this system of reliances was broken today. So while I could almost perfectly square away the level I’m responsible for (only three Lesson Plans left and those write themselves!), I couldn’t say the same for the other level I teach. There were no materials for it.

Naturally, I wrote a snotty message about this. The summation of that message is ‘you suck’—I don’t suck, you suck. I’m going to be the butt of many a joke this week and probably a few trolls too (as per the usual goings on of the PDF).

I’m seriously considering joining the “You Suck” gang next year. If you don’t care, why should I? We all get paid either way. This is why the PDF is a joke (sometimes).

The Daily Bullet

Major work halt today as my iMac ate shit when using Pixelmator, Parallels (with Word and Powerpoint), iTunes, Finder, and Pathfinder. This happens when the some buffer somewhere craps out and then the OS can’t draw the screens anymore. For a panicked moment I thought this was the graphics card dying.

I shut the whole thing down for a bit. I went inside and made tortillas and then ate a burrito with my yummy rice and lentils and ketchup.

For the next batch of tortillas, I’ll try using butter. I’ll also try to get them rounder. I’m considering having a burrito night soon.

New feature! No more sitting around and trying to catch up here. Just plowing forward from now on and backposting when I do/feel like it.

Day 425, aka the “stuck” post.

Daily Report

I didn’t sleep last night. I struggled to write or create a script that would grab an .mp3 from a folder, open it, insert markers in pre-determined places, split the audio file into eleven segments based on those
