Day 414

Tuesday | April 16th, 2013


I got distracted, after I got home. Not with the work I should have been doing but with file management—something from my winter vacation list of things to do. I put all art files into Dropbox, except for photography, graphic design, and web projects because ain’t no Dropbox account been offered that can hold that data.

I should have been listening to my student’s audio homework and giving them some feedback ahead of exams next week—a task long neglected. Instad I spent the next large chunk of my day sorting through all the folders from Marylhurst and reading the assignments.

What bothered me most was how angry a lot of it was. Some writing was angry in a good way, like for an analysis or critique, but the fiction was angry in a not so good way. This didn’t harm the stories, but the underlying tone was there. Considering the happenstances of life at those moments it’s not anger without reason either.
