Day 398

Sunday | March 31st, 2013

There were all sorts of things I’d rather have been doing today. I’m locked in some ugly pattern of weekend lesson planning hell. It’s not a circle, it’s a Möbius strip. It’s a sort of going around and around where things look different every half twist and I think I’m finally getting out in front of this only to find myself back again the following weekend with the same line up of events: wake up late, sit in front of computer, plan lessons, sleep late, wake up late, sit in front of computer, plan lessons.

I can think of a billion other things I’d rather be doing. Filing my nails? They’re getting long again. When they do, typing on a keyboard becomes akin to fingernails on a chalkboard. Typing becomes sickly. Assessing the amounts of ink remaining in all my “teacher” pens? Somehow I had time for this at the CEC. I labeled all the pens and wrote on them how many weeks of usage I expected to get out of them. Rearranging this room? It has to happen soon. Whenever the furniture shows up. How will I possibly make time to fix up this room and plan lessons?
