Day 395

Thursday | March 28th, 2013

Like yesterday, today was about what is good for me, but not what I want. It’s getting warmer out, finally and I don’t want to spend hours and hours sitting in my office at work. But, it’s not my day off, so I don’t get to decide these things. I’m whisked off by the motions already set and going where they’re going and no counterforce from me can change that without lots of upheaval.

So I did what I was supposed to do. I taught at 11.00, then spent the next three hours (my official office hours) grading quizzes and homework. Then, because of a meeting I was required to attend, I spent another reluctant hour doing this.

I showed up at the meeting; I said a few things. I was greatly relieved about a few other things. And, at long last, the making-money part of the day was over and dashed out and got over the bridge as quickly as possible. I did stop to take pictures of trees and of the later afternoon sun sinking on Gyeongju and eating buildings in its wake.
