Day 210

Monday | September 24th, 2012

It was odd today, getting up in a strange place, taking a shower where I could use both my hands at the same time to wash. That especially increased the I’m-staying-in-a-motel feel of it all. It also felt normal and left me without much to say for most of the day.

I ran late and had to take a cab (which was cheaper than usual, given the now straight shot to the campus). I walked home, over the river (hero image, top) like normal. When I come to the first intersection (Daily Bullet, bottom), I usually peel off to the right and cut through the neighborhood on a diagonal path back to the flat. Today I went straight. I do this sometimes, too. The kicker was at the next intersection (thumbnail): I went straight up the road. I hit my alley, turned right and ran into two anxious and barking dogs.

I think they thought I wouldn’t come back.
