Day 186

X

I woke up just after 11 this morning. I said hello to the dogs, then went straight back to back posting. Like yesterday, the mission continued. I would be caught up with this blog before Saturday.

Sometime during the day I got a message that TD would be headed off to Saudi Arabia a month sooner than expected. This means that unless I make it back to Seoul this weekend, the wedding will have been the last time that we meet for about a year. This packed some urgency onto things.

This weekend CM is also having a birthday party. Again, like the wedding and the days leading up to it, everyone I know and like that is still in Korea will gather. The horrible truth is that though I want to go and might be able to swing it with work kicking off on Monday, the house wins all the attention now.

Over the last few days we helped another teacher and his wife rent out our flat so getting our cash back shouldn’t be stressful. We are must move out by the 26th of September. Less than four weeks from now. Tomorrow the wood guy is coming to build the floor in the pantry. Meow and I have made a drawing of what we want and how we want the supports to be built in, but I’m not confident it will be enough given the other things (1, 2, 3, 4). We want to go and have more oversight on this last big thing. This means no trip to Seoul and I’ll have to catch TD on the next.

In the last 36 hours I have written 19 posts for this blog containing over 9,000 words (9,304 if you include the HTML) and 140 images. Six of those posts were exclusively house related and cover the process and frustrations Meow (mostly Meow) and I have been going through. The longest post was Day 178 with 1158 words (including HTML code). The post with the most images was Bathroom Fiesta with 11 image (not counting the thumbnail and hero images.

Tomorrow is the first of September, including this post, I wrote 44 times in this blog in the month of August. This beats the previous record of 39 posts from March when we first came to Gyeongju.
