Day 116

Friday | June 22nd, 2012

Maybe I was supposed to be somewhere this morning. Maybe not. If I was, one patronizing jib email sent via a smartphone wasn’t enough to bust through the dreamscape or my good morning headache. Sometimes you wake up with a dreaming too long (or not enough) bonus. Anyway, I rolled in just before 15.00 in a taxi, just like old times at The Cosmodemonic Education Company.

I sat through three hours of workshop, listened to people curse at there spreadsheets, wondered why people go about things the long, hard way, then remembered that I usually do that too, but for still unknown reasons, I did not this time. Then I spent a bit of time wondering if I will be done in a timely fashion in the future.

At home, I watched Annie Hall (imdb, wiki) because everyone has said it was good. It was a mess. Whatever passed for cinema when that came out? I suppose if I can watch an equally disjointed mess of words, dialogue, themes, scenes, and story lines like Sucker Punch (imdb, wiki), then this film must have something of value, right? Nope. It sucked. So did Sucker Punch.

I followed Annie Hall with Iron Sky (imdb, wiki), which was funny, timely, ridiculous, and yet, better than Annie Hall. Upon further reflection, I’m certain that Woody Allen hates cinema. Iron Sky was made by people that truly love cinema and are also inspired by its products. Annie Hall is not inspired by anything as far as I can see (maybe New York or boring people to death).

I played with the dogs a bit before gobbling up anything else for the evening. Naughty sat on my lap for a long time and I kvetched a little. We went out for a midnight walk; someday we’ll be able to take them out in the daytime and they won’t freak out constantly. (By they, I specifically mean Twitchy.)

The Daily Bullet

Twitchy likes to dance.

Daily Report

I didn’t sleep last night. I struggled to write or create a script that would grab an .mp3 from a folder, open it, insert markers in pre-determined places, split the audio file into eleven segments based on those
